The system samples the speed continuously during the upload. In order for the analysis to be effective the sample period must include several chunks which start and complete inside the period. It is recommended to keep the sample period at 20 seconds and reduce the chunk size for slow connections.

Smallest Chunk Size:

Smallest Chunk Size Chunk size is fixed to 4 mega bytes for connections 8 mega bit or better. Use this field to set the size for slower connections. If you have 1 mega bit connection, it will take at least 8 seconds to transfer 1 mega byte chunk. Setting the chunk size to about 256 kilo bytes will provide sufficient information inside the sample period. Keeping the chunk small will also reduce times outs and retries.

Maximum concurrent Chunks:

Maximum concurrent Chunks This number, together with the chunk size, determines the maximum upload speed. When the connection is slow, only a small number of chunks will be sent in parallel.

Sample Logging:

Sample Logging The system keeps a trail of upload samples. Logging can be turned off during normal production operation.

Initial Throttle Milliseconds:

Initial Throttle This number is used when the system has no sample data and no statistics about the pulse range. If you see that on a slow connection the upload always starts faster than the limit, you should increase this number and consider reducing the chunk size

Simulation Settings

Pulse Increase It is easy to simulate slow connections. Simply set the value and it will be used by all nodes.

Block Upload:

Block Upload You can simulate an outage and test upload resume by turning blocking on.
