Lee Harrison founded Thru, Inc., in 2002 with an obsession to design a comprehensive solution for business file transfer needs. A seasoned executive with over two decades of management experience in technology companies, he guided the implementation of Thru’s robust cloud-based enterprise software. With his background in operations, financial control, engineering, sales and team leadership, Lee led Thru into Gartner’s magic quadrant and Cool Vendor status. His past roles include Director of Operations at Southwest Teleproductions, where he guided the company through 40 consecutive profitable quarters. As Founder and CEO of I/O Partners, Inc., Lee drove the company to become the largest Systems Integrator (SI) for Discreet (a division of Autodesk). Within two years under his leadership, I/O Partners earned $27 million in revenue and in 2000 was named the 49th fastest growing entrepreneurial company in the U.S.
When not developing current and new ventures, Lee enjoys golf, snow and water skiing with his wife and two daughters.
Sergey Arutiunov is a member of Thru’s founding team and serves as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering. Sergey has over 20 years experience in software design and engineering management with the last 15+ years in Silicon Valley. Sergey has collaborated with large technology and content companies such as Apple, IBM, Microsoft and Disney. In his current role, he is responsible for development of all Thru client, server and network technologies, products and cloud services. Prior to joining Thru, Sergey was a leader of a number of software engineering teams in Silicon Graphics in the areas of digital media file management, internet infrastructure applications and computer graphics. He also has worked on a number of artificial intelligence applications in diverse areas.
Sergey holds a Master degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Moscow University.
As CFOO, Lindy Manuel plays an integral role in formulating, directing and managing the company’s business model, as well as developing and implementing strategic plans. Additionally, he oversees the financial health of the company, which includes supervising company-wide management, financial and operational matters. Lindy has over 30 years of experience across numerous technology companies. His background includes project management of multi-million dollar implementations in Fortune 100 companies, global operations management, national account sales of several breakthrough technologies and work with corporate CEOs to drive company turnarounds. Lindy has held a variety of roles including President, CEO, Director of Operations, Director of Customer Service, Managing Director and Director of Program Management.
In addition to his commitment to corporate success, Lindy is the founding member of Young Life McKinney Texas Chapter and the McKinney Independent School District Alpha Parents (ALPS). In partnership with a close friend, he also managed Eastside Economic Development Corp which built affordable homes in depressed neighborhoods for no profit.
In his capacity as CGO, Ian Snead works across key areas of the business: marketing, sales, product and finance to drive growth by implementing the long-term vision and optimizing business activities. Ian has joined Thru with 20+ years of sales and marketing experience working in an array of technology ventures. His first start up was vzaar, an online video platform which he grew from concept to a multi-million dollar leading Enterprise Video Platform. Ian’s other ventures include launching a successful Visual Effects sales division within WPP (WPPGY) offering visual effects solutions to the film, video and gaming industry in the UK which was later sold. Throughout his career, Ian has always taken a customer-centric view to ensure what is being offered is meaningful and relevant to ensure value for both parties.
Originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica, Ian was educated on both sides of the Atlantic and finished at Florida Atlantic University. An avid Rugby player, Ian plays for Cobham Rugby Club in Surrey, England. He hopes one day to play alongside his two sons who are in the youth side for CRFC.
Serving as CISO and Vice President of Operations, Kevin Westenkirchner oversees all of Thru operations, corporate IT infrastructure, security, data system architecture design and support departments. Additionally, he is responsible for Thru’s network infrastructure encompassing six globally distributed data centers. As Senior Systems Engineer with JB Hunt, a national logistics company, Kevin managed 60+ servers and more than 350 MS SQL, DB2 and Oracle Databases. Kevin joined Thru in 2010 as a senior system engineer and rapidly advanced to his current position. He thrives on the challenges his current position offers him and is extremely excited about the future of Thru.
Kevin began his career in the military, serving as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy before graduating from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) with a BS in IFSM (Information Systems Management). Besides work, he is an active member of his church’s Men’s Ministry and enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.
Daniel Hurtubise, a Thru founding team member, has been highly instrumental in laying the foundation for Thru’s platform architecture and development. He is currently responsible for product strategy, engineering alignment, analyst relations and key customer engagements. Daniel is a recognized leader with over 20 years of experience cultivating technology solutions for customers worldwide. His leadership in nurturing relationships with customers ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies has been continually rated best-in-class by customers and rating agencies.
Daniel’s business experience encompasses North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Al Carvalho is responsible for Thru’s global enterprise solution strategy and execution. Al joined Thru with over 25 years of experience leading enterprise solution sales and delivery teams for industry leading technology and management consulting companies including Unisys, BearingPoint, KPMG and Ernst & Young. His expertise includes selling and delivering enterprise class systems integration, business process alignment, workflow/collaboration and data management/business intelligence solutions in both the private and public sectors.
Al graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and invaluable life experience playing varsity soccer for the Scarlet Knights. When not helping Thru customers improve performance, Al enjoys staying active, playing music and sharing time with family and friends.
