Lee Harrison founded Thru, Inc., in 2002 with an obsession to design a comprehensive solution for business file transfer needs. A seasoned executive with over two decades of management experience in technology companies, he guided the implementation of Thru’s robust cloud-based enterprise software. With his background in operations, financial control, engineering, sales and team leadership, Mr. Harrison led Thru into Gartner’s magic quadrant and Cool Vendor status. Mr. Harrison’s past roles include Director of Operations at Southwest Teleproductions, where he guided the company through 40 consecutive profitable quarters. As Founder and CEO of I/O Partners, Inc., he drove the company to become the largest Systems Integrator (SI) for Discreet (a division of Autodesk). Within two years under his leadership, I/O Partners earned $27 million in revenue and in 2000 was named the 49th fastest growing entrepreneurial company in the U.S.
When not developing current and new ventures, Mr. Harrison enjoys golf, snow and water skiing with his wife and two daughters.
Sergey Arutiunov is a member of the Thru founding team and serves as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Arutiunov has over 20 years experience in software design and engineering management, with the last 15+ years in Silicon Valley, and collaborated with large technology and content companies such as Apple, IBM, Microsoft, and Disney. In his current role, he is responsible for development of all Thru client, server and network technologies, products and cloud services. Prior to joining Thru, Mr. Arutiunov was a leader of a number of software engineering teams in Silicon Graphics in the areas of digital media file management, internet infrastructure applications, and computer graphics. He also worked on a number of artificial intelligence applications in diverse areas.
Mr. Arutiunov holds a Master degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Moscow University.
As the Chief Financial Officer of Thru, Jeff Kight plays an integral role in formulating, directing and managing the company’s short- and long-term business model, as well as developing and implementing strategic plans. In addition, he oversees the financial health of the company, which includes supervising company-wide management, financial, and operational matters. He has over 15 years of experience building and operating companies across numerous industry verticals. With a background in investment, management, logistical engineering, mathematics, operations research, capital markets, risk analysis, valuation, and decision science, Mr. Kight has held a variety of roles as CFO, Director of Private Equity, President of a national healthcare information technology company, and CEO of a web-based marketing and data collection company.
Mr. Kight holds a Master of Engineering from MIT, an MBA from Georgetown University, and a BBA from Texas Christian University (TCU). When not devoting his time to professional endeavors, he enjoys military history, golf, and Redskins football.
Daniel Hurtubise, a Thru founding team member, has been highly instrumental in laying the foundation for Thru’s platform architecture and development. He is currently responsible for product strategy, engineering alignment, analyst relations and key customer engagements. Mr. Hurtubise is a recognized leader with over 20 years of experience cultivating technology solutions for customers worldwide. His leadership in nurturing relationships with customers ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies has been continually rated best-in-class by customers and rating agencies.
Mr. Hurtubise’s business experience encompasses North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Doug Miller oversees Thru’s marketing, communications and branding efforts. He brings over two decades of customer engagement, strategic marketing and innovation experience to the firm. His experience spans across service and entertainment industries including time spent leading the marketing and innovation efforts at GuideStone Financial Resources and fan loyalty and engagement strategies with the 5X NBA champion San Antonio Spurs. Mr. Miller’s leadership model centers on integrity, personal excellence and intentionality and he has the unique ability to strike balance between data-driven decision-making and developing a creative edge needed to differentiate in the marketplace.
Mr. Miller is a graduate of Baylor University and holds an MBA from Texas A&M–Commerce and a Graduate Marketing Certificate from Southern Methodist University. Outside of work, he enjoys serving in a variety of ministry and mission efforts, coaching his son’s sports teams and watching his daughter on stage. Mr. Miller and his wife enjoy traveling and stopping at as many minor league baseball parks as possible across the country.
Al Carvalho is responsible for Thru’s global sales strategy and execution. Mr. Carvalho joined Thru with over 25 years of experience leading sales and delivery teams for industry leading technology and management consulting companies including Unisys, BearingPoint, KPMG and Ernst & Young. His expertise includes selling and delivering enterprise class systems integration, business process alignment, workflow/collaboration and data management/business intelligence solutions in both the private and public sectors. Mr. Carvalho is a dynamic, innovative leader, team builder and results oriented problem solver with exceptional business, technical and communication skills.
Mr. Carvalho graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and invaluable life experience playing varsity soccer for the Scarlet Knights. He is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese. When not helping customers improve performance, Mr. Carvalho enjoys staying active, playing music and sharing time with his wonderful family and friends.
Jack Clark brings more than two decades of IT enterprise software development, consulting and partner management experience to Thru. He has focused much of his career delivering business solutions in multiple fields including travel, financial, retail and healthcare for companies like American Airlines, AT&T, Baylor, HKS and many more. He has the ability to translate business to technology and technology back to business. Mr. Clark joined Thru in 2016 as Vice President of Strategic Partners for the Americas, to increase their partnership base as well as continue to work with current partners to solve business issues. Because Thru has a long history of solving complex challenges for many companies, he is excited about his future with Thru.
Mr. Clark is a native Texan and completed his BS in Management Information Systems in Dallas. Besides work, he is active in his church’s ministry serving as an Elder, serving on the city of Coppell’s Park Board and spending time with his wife and three kids.
Kevin Westenkirchner oversees all of Thru operations, corporate IT infrastructure, security, data system architecture design, and support departments. Additionally he is responsible for Thru’s network infrastructure encompassing six globally distributed data centers. As Senior Systems Engineer with JB Hunt, a national logistics company, he managed over 60 servers and more than 350 MS SQL, DB2 and Oracle Databases. Mr. Westenkirchner joined Thru in 2010 as a senior system engineer and rapidly advanced to his current position. He thrives on the challenge his current position offers him and is extremely excited about the future of Thru.
Mr. Westenkirchner began his career in the military, serving as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy before graduating from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) with a BS in IFSM (Information Systems Management). Besides work, he is an active member of his church’s Men’s Ministry and enjoys spending time with his wife and his two sons.
