Thru strengthens security with HITRUST

Irving, TX, April 24, 2017 – Thru today announced that they are now HITRUST CSF Certified for information security by Health Information Trust (HITRUST) Alliance. Thru customers can now rely on the set of standards and practices to protect electronic medical records as Thru’s datacenter, Rackspace, was recently awarded HITRUST CSF Certification. This elevates security practices beyond the requirements laid out in (HIPAA) Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and offers organizations a comprehensive, efficient and verifiable approach to regulatory compliance and risk management.

Kevin Westenkirchner, VP of Operations for Thru, stated, “Thru’s datacenters are now HITRUST CSF certified. HITRUST CSF Certified status applies to the practices, procedures and policies that govern offerings within the Thru Dedicated environment including Dedicated Servers, storage, databases, networking solutions and managed virtualization. Leveraging the Rackspace Dedicated environment helps Thru provide EFSS services to healthcare organizations while mitigating the security risk of electronic protected health information (ePHI) and ensure their data is hosted in an IT environment that complies with key controls from several industry standards.”

Thru has dozens of healthcare customers who rely on their 100% uptime guarantee, HIPAA compliance and a reputation that in fourteen years, the company has never experienced a data breach. Now with HITRUST CSF Certified status, the Rackspace Dedicated environment helps Thru customers in the healthcare sector reduce the cost and complexity of creating a secure IT infrastructure. It allows them to meet a multitude of regulations while eliminating audit fatigue from third-party regulators and auditors.
