Gartner Recognizes Thru 4 Years in a Row in the Magic Quadrant for Content Collaboration Platforms
We are excited to announce that Thru, Inc., has been recognized as a Niche Player in Gartner’s 2018 Magic Quadrant for Content Collaboration Platforms (CCP)! This is the fourth straight year for Thru to be included in this distinguished report.

Gartner selects vendors for inclusion in the Magic Quadrant based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. The Magic Quadrant divides vendors into four quadrants and is intended to inform about vendors and their solutions. In our view, Thru’s placement in the Niche Players quadrant reflects its laser-sharp focus of meeting complex file exchange and content collaboration requirements in this market.

“The days of simple desktop file synchronizing and sharing are over as we believe Gartner has aptly observed. At Thru, we rely on the core of our technology ecosystem, the Thru File Exchange and Collaboration Platform, to solve unique and challenging file sharing issues in a competitive, over financed, 100-plus vendor CCP market. Thru’s unlimited innovation, no-limits commitment, delivering tailored solutions for the most demanding use cases is a Niche Players quadrant quintessential,” stated Lee Harrison, CEO and founder of Thru. “Market maturity, confirmed by a surge in market consolidation, reaffirms our longheld belief that the convergence of file transfer and collaboration on a single platform delivers the best ROI for our customers in the long run.”

Content Collaboration Platforms – Enabling Digital Workplaces

The Gartner report states, “By 2020, 80% of large and midsize organizations in mature regions will have deployed one or more content collaboration platform (CCP) products to implement a content productivity and collaboration strategy.”

At the core, content collaboration platforms support companies with modern digital workplaces. Typical capabilities offered provide companies with mobile access to content, file synchronization across devices and cloud repositories, file search and retrieval, file manipulation, and document creation and workflows.

Niche problems. Niche solutions. Thru.

Thru is known for its focus on the unique challenging collaboration issues plaguing global enterprises, addressing issues mostly ignored by the ubiquitous large players. Singularly built from the ground up, Thru is the only cloud-native file exchange and collaboration platform with iPaaS connectors. Relying on Thru’s extensive APIs and tools, developers can choose out-of-the-box connectors or develop custom adaptors for integration with existing enterprise applications.

One such integration story is our partnership with Dell EMC. The company came to Thru with a very niche project demanding vast improvements to existing workflow and file sharing with the customer support organization. The challenge was to modernize the large file sharing experience transparently for 115,000 users (e.g. eliminate file size limits, add 100% uptime, increase security and scalability) in Dell EMC’s existing proprietary technology.

Meeting the expectations and SLAs of one of the largest tech companies in the world requires focusing on those challenges to get it right. Thru, with its incredible team of professional service developers, implemented on-specification and on time with no user interruption. Dell EMC saved three years of in-house development and millions in expenses while reducing the risk of personnel changes jeopardizing the long-term success of the project. Additional use cases are now being addressed as the Thru platform bridges file transfer, APIs and collaboration for an ongoing positive ROI.

Having a distinct flair for solving niche file sharing needs of large enterprises, like Dell EMC, sets Thru apart in the content collaboration market. Thru’s capabilities to modernize content infrastructure is especially valuable in situations where companies need to transfer extremely large files, over long distances or to remote end points, and/or low or compromised bandwidth networks.
