Cloud managed file transfer (MFT) solutions are deployed in multi-tenant, dedicated or private clouds. In multi-tenant and dedicated cloud services, MFT vendors typically manage deployment, high availability and disaster recovery.

Thru Deployment Options
In managed file transfer as a service (MFTaaS) deployments, Thru manages the infrastructure, maintenance, scaling and software updates giving your organization the true SaaS experience for managed file transfer. Thru offers two deployment options for MFTaaS: multi-tenant and dedicated tenant.
If deployment in a private cloud is desired, Thru offers a licensed option.
A distributed hybrid architecture option extends MFT functionality to internal file transfers executed by agents installed on corporate networks and orchestrated by our cloud. All files within internal flows are transferred inside the enterprise’s firewalls.

Multi-Tenant Thru Cloud
Thru’s multi-tenant cloud is deployed in one of several regions around the world (United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Australia). In this option, your MFT account is part of a multi-tenant environment where cloud resources are shared by multiple tenants (customers). However, each tenant’s data is encrypted and stored separately.
- Benefit from economies of scale by sharing the cost of infrastructure with other tenants.
- Storage accounts are logically separated per customer.
- Environment is already deployed and ready to use.
Dedicated Tenant Thru Cloud
Thru’s dedicated environment can be deployed in any one of Azure’s 60+ regions around the world. The entire infrastructure and all the components within it are dedicated to this tenant. This option is more expensive than the multi-tenant option as the costs for the infrastructure are not shared with other tenants.
- Satisfy strict cyber security requirements where multi-tenant is not an option.
- Infrastructure requires time to be deployed and tested.
- Extended detection and response (XDR) includes cloud security, threat intelligence, endpoint security and security operations.
Thru License Private Cloud
Thru’s private cloud option allows customers to deploy Thru in their cloud. In this type of deployment, infrastructure management is the customer’s responsibility.
- Satisfy strict cyber security requirements where SaaS is not an option.
- Automated software delivery can be configured for this option.
- Support is limited to the application layer and not infrastructure.

MFTaaS
Pay for the service and Thru will deploy and manage all the infrastructure required to run the service.
Instance Deployed
Thru’s multi-tenant environment is up and running, delivering millions of files each day. This means if you are a new customer there is nothing to deploy so you can get your project up and running right away.
XDR Monitoring
As part of the service, Thru’s Cloud Security team monitors threats and reports on any incidents.
24/7/365 Support
All customers receive the same level of support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Economies of Scale
Cloud computing costs can add up, so if they are shared in a multi-tenant environment, each customer can share the costs.
Hybrid Architecture
As a cloud service, the control plane is in the cloud. Thru’s distributed hybrid architecture uses the Thru Node to transfer files between source and target locations on a private network without the data leaving the network. See section below for more information »
Automated Software Delivery
Thru utilizes a continuous deployment (CD) software development lifecycle process. Most incremental updates do not require downtime.
Hybrid Architecture: Cloud Managed File Transfer with On-Premises Agent
Transfer files within your enterprise firewall with the Thru Node (an MFT agent), which is installed on-premises to transfer files while orchestrated by our cloud.
Use the online administration portal to re-configure, pause/resume, restart or update the node. Configurations are retrieved by the node via outbound polling using an HTTPS connection.
